As we age, it’s a case of ‘use it or lose it’. We provide tailored personal training for seniors, the elderly and injury / rehabilitation personal training.
Most often, when mature people seemingly start to lose their independence, it’s not just because they've aged, it's because they've remained inactive throughout their lives.
Muscle weakness, as a result of years of lack of strength training and exercise, is one of the biggest contributing factors to falls and greatly affects the quality of life for seniors.
At Urban Fitness Solutions our certified trainers take a person way out of their comfort zone achieving things they never thought they could do, safely, whilst being sensitive to the needs of individuals in their senior years.
Some activity, however light, is better for your health than none at all. It’s about long-term progress, not perfection.
We work with you to improve your cardiovascular capacity, strength, balance and flexibility in the context of your health conditions. We also help you to recover from and prevent injuries.
The benefits are beyond physical. You’ll feel a renewed sense of energy, improved mood and sleep, and reduce your incidence of injury.
What’s most important is that we keep you moving. We keep you independent.
Injury Personal Trainers
An injury can feel like a real set back and affect your motivation to exercise, which can be the start of more serious physical decline. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Urban Fitness Solutions are specialists in rehabilitation personal training. We help people overcome existing injuries – whether the result of a serious accident, an operation, or a more minor lifestyle injury – and prevent further injury.
As part of our one-on-one personal training service, we establish your physical limits and work with you to develop a tailored routine of rehabilitation exercises that will help you regain your strength and fitness and keep you motivated to continue exercising.
If weight loss is your goal, we educate you on how you can continue to train safely, despite your injury, and help you manage nutrition and lifestyle to keep you on track to achieving your goal.
If required, we work with our partners in health and wellbeing to provide you with additional support during your recovery.
Most injuries are, in fact, understandable, predictable and preventable, so succumbing to one most certainly doesn’t have to spell the end of your exercise days. We do, however, encourage you to get clearance from your health professional before embarking on a training program if you have sustained an injury.
